Preparing your clients for Real Estate Photography Tip #1

Tip #1 How to prepare your clients for Real Estate Photography Real Estate Photography can be a tricky thing, reason being is you are forever going into the comfort of people’s homes and making them feel uneasy by exposing their personal belongings to the world. It is somewhat of a home invasion; in order to get the best shots and show off the properties finest features, you more than likely will have to remove some of the families personal possessions. This can be very uncomfortable for the tenants or owners of the property as well as the photographer, if not done correctly.   Tip #1 Declutter as much as you can! The above example shows what a big difference removing clutter from the bathroom can make. Bathroom clutter is by far the easiest to move, even if the owners don’t move them themselves. Therefore there is absolutely no excuse for these to end up on the web in your set of professional images. Clutter is a distraction; it takes the viewers eyes away from the main purpose of the image. Instead of resting our eyes on the stunning features of the bathroom, we find ourselves staring at half empty shampoo bottles and old razors. This is not the visual impact any real estate photography images  are looking for. It is extremely important to prepare the owners or tenants of the impending invasion, the more information they have the less uncomfortable it is for them. If they know what they need to do in order to prepare for their photography, there are no surprises and they have the opportunity to declutter their homes themselves. A down to earth and approachable personality goes a long way in making the owners or tenants feel comfortable with you being in their home.
